Does Your Brand Jingle for the Holidays? (Why You Need a Jingle this Holiday Season)

The holidays have a sound. Not a look, not a slogan — a sound.

You can walk into a store, hear a few notes of sleigh bells or a cozy jazz trio playing Christmas standards, and suddenly you’re five years old again, shaking presents under a tree. Music has this power to directly transport people to a different time and place. When you combine this with the nostalgia around the holidays you have a super powerful tool to directly connect with your audience and build long term emotional connections with them.

Every year, businesses pour money into visuals — lights, videos, posts — but the brands that stick are the ones that sound like something special and cut through all the noise.

People remember feelings, not marketing

The average person scrolls through hundreds of ads a day and forgets all of them. But if you tell them a story, they may not remember the details but they'll remember how it made them feel. Music works directly in this world of feelings and is a business's best tool for getting attention and making an impact.

Not only that, but if you give people a melody, they’ll hum it for weeks. If you put words to that melody, your message may never be forgotten! That’s what jingles do best. They give your brand a hook.A tiny piece of sound that says “Hey, that’s us, don't forget it!”

It doesn’t need to be cheesy or retro like you may think of from old school 1940's radio jingles. Modern jingles can sound cinematic, warm, or even minimalist. Many brands even have jingles that are so similar to modern pop music, that if you didn't look at the lyrics you would be convinced it's a top 40 hit and not an advertising tool. What matters is that it’s yours, not another stock loop from a royalty-free site that 100 other business (including your competitors) are using.

The holidays are your cheat code

Between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, everyone’s already tuned in emotionally. They’re nostalgic. Hopeful. A little more open to stories. That’s your window. A seasonal jingle doesn’t just sell your holiday special — it sets a tone for your brand going into the new year. It says, We’re alive. We’re evolving. We care enough to sound intentional.

Then when January hits, that same jingle can evolve into your year-round theme. One sound, two campaigns (or even more, some jingles run for YEARS!), zero waste.

Start the new year sounding like yourself

If your brand had a voice, what would it sound like? Warm and human? Slick and confident? Quiet and thoughtful?

Whatever it is, that’s what people should hear when they think of you.And that’s what a custom jingle gives you — a shortcut to emotional recognition.

I make short, memorable pieces of music for local businesses — the kind that make your ads feel alive. If you’re thinking about a fresh start for your marketing, let’s make it sound like you mean it.
